Villanova Davis Center Environment

The Villanova Davis Center is a three-story, 55,000 sq. ft. athletic and fitness facility. The state-of-the-art center is one of the nation’s only intercollegiate facilities dedicated to men’s and women’s basketball programs as well as the university community.

Upon entering the facility, the atrium highlights the long and proud history of Wildcat basketball—Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat. Bold, impactful branding, punctuated by the large, backlit dimensional V logo installed on the ceiling, inspires athletes, students and visitors. On the right are multiple media displays celebrating Nova Nation anchored in the center by the Men’s and Women’s head basketball coaches live twitter feeds. On the opposite side, visitors interact with a tablet-driven 8x8 ft. LED media wall. Content includes Villanova Basketball history, highlights, wins, losses, facilities, coaches, and players. In movie mode the interactive wall takes over other media screens in the facility for pre-game celebrations and VIP visits.

At the rear of the Villanova Davis Center atrium is the Wildcats Basketball trophy case. Divided into three sections, the case houses the Men’s 1985 NCAA National Championship trophy and artifacts, the Men’s 2016 NCAA National Championship trophy and artifacts, and the Women’s trophies, awards and artifacts. The 1985 and 2016 NCAA National Championship trophy cases include monitors playing highlights of each game.

The Davis Center houses executive space for the men’s and women’s basketball programs, a practice court for each team, locker rooms, state of the art weight room, cinema, and sports medicine. The stairwell between the three floors features an impressive visual timeline of men’s and women’s Wildcats basketball program. From Wildcats in the NBA to 1,000 point scorers to academic honors, the stairwell experience is a daily dose of Nova Nation for athletes, students and visitors.
