SAP “Business Reimagined” Mobile Tour

The Background

The SAP® Business Reimagined Mobile Tour is an invite-only, custom mobile pop-up lab that brings innovation directly to the customer’s doorstep. The tour allows SAP customers to experience some of today’s hottest technologies and how to reimagine business models, processes, and the future of work. To kick off the pop-up lab’s journey to 150 cities, its first stop includes SAP’s North American headquarters to celebrate being named 59th on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For.

The Experience

Greeting visitors is Pepper, a 4-foot-tall robot developed by SoftBank that dances, takes selfies, and interacts with the public using SAP powered apps. Guests watch product videos on 10' exterior LED screens and enjoy a social space that includes cornhole, giant Jenga, and an outdoor café. Inside the pop-up are various examples of how SAP’s products can transform the business environment, including:

  • Transformation Wall - Displays qualitative and quantitative data to demonstrate how businesses and industries are already transforming.

  • Three-panel Digital Boardroom - Uses Artificial Intelligence to compile and visualize multiple streams of data.

  • The Beer Wall - Showcases SAP’s retail function by using an artificial intelligence system that pairs consumers with their ideal beer match. After patrons choose their preferred qualities in a beer, the technology matches a bottle from the inventory with customer preferences.

  • An Interconnected City - Digitally connect various structures and items like buildings, trains and buses using IoT (Internet of Things) technology and exchanging information to a variety of sources

Additional examples of VR/AR technologies are on display, including one demonstration featuring an oil rig. Presenters explain how the technology is useful in challenging or dangerous situations where an operator wears a VR headset while a drone goes into the more perilous area to fix the problem.

The SAP Business Reimagined mobile tour pop-up is built as a custom one-off structure to suit the design needs for specific events, from the Miami Open tennis tournament to individualized presentations for car suppliers in Detroit and utilities in Houston.

Materials and finishes are selected to create a comfortable casual environment. Rustic wood grain floors, chalkboard walls, matte finishes, Sunshades, and warm indirect LED cove lighting all provide a contemporary and comfortable space.
