The renovated Rutgers University Hale Center is the new home of the Rutgers football program—Scarlet Knights training, administrative and academic resource facilities. Its houses some of the most advanced sports and training facilities in the country. Sparks creates an experiential design that celebrates the Scarlet Knights’ Big 10 legacy, motivates current athletes and inspires recruits. The experience envelopes visitors throughout the center with Rutgers pride at every turn.
The Rutgers University Hale Center rebrand focuses on the facility as the physical and emotional center of the Scarlet Knight experience where the football “family” prepares for game days. The anchors of the experience are new locker room and hallway designs that honor Rutgers stars and players that go on to play professional football. The goal is to surround visitors, students and players with powerful symbols of a winning tradition that transcend collegiate football.
The Rutgers University Hale Center facility houses a 14,262-square foot weight room with over 100 machines and free-weight stations as well as a 60-yard FieldTurf track. The Center includes interactive digital classrooms, computer lab, video room, and 150-seat theater for use with game preparation and academics. A state-of-the-art training room includes the latest medical equipment and a wet room with hot and cold tubs and a Hydroworks treadmill.
