Hosted by Event Marketer,  Ex Awards 2017 shines a spotlight on the power of brand experiences, and we are thrilled to announce that Google I/O and Sparks received awards in two categories at this year's exclusive ceremony!

Ex Winner: Best B-to-B Environment
The highest award recognizes the “environment” created for a b-to-b event or meeting. The staging, the technology used, the custom structure or exhibit, the overall experience. Entries focus on what was designed, why, what it was made of, how it fit together, and how the overall environment was unique and special.

Silver Winner: The Leap of Faith Award
A new category for Ex Awards 2017, it is awarded to a campaign that took the biggest risk and went all-in on experiential marketing ideas. Judges look at campaigns to understand the risks involved, the leaps of faith taken by both the agency and the client—and the reward that the big risk generated.

Google I/O brings together over 7,500+ developers, product partners, educators, students, entrepreneurs, and technologists from around the globe to excite, engage and connect. The annual developer event provides hands-on learning environments, technical talks, and opportunities for Google to share its latest developer product and platform announcements with the masses.

This year’s I/O was epic in every way; moving from its traditional indoor conference format of the past to a completely new, reinvented outdoor developer festival in its own backyard; Shoreline Amphitheater.

With a laid-back music-festival vibe, the three day I/O ‘16 occupied over 10 acres of grounds with 380 speakers in 190+ sessions, 18 Google product teams represented in the developer sandbox, 85+ hands-on Codelabs and two spectacular evening events featuring Charli XCX, Kygo and a spectrum of Burning Man’eqsue experiences.
